Washington County Stage 1 Fire Restrictions Issued, R-2026-3754

Washington County has adopted Stage 1 Fire Restrictions effective May 22, 2026. A copy of the resolution is attached, which lists prohibited activities, such as open fires (campfires, burning trash, etc.), fireworks, and metalworking in dry vegetation. Please review the document for complete details. As Utah and the Southwest enter an especially dry and potentially dangerous fire season, residents are encouraged to avoid any activities that increase the risk of fire.

Chipping Site Closed by Request of the State of Utah

Please be advised that the State of Utah has requested the closure of the current yard waste drop-off/chipping site due to its proximity to a flood control berm. DVFR and the DV-CFC are working to establish a new location for residents to drop off yard waste. Do not attempt to leave any yard waste adjacent to the Dammeron Valley Community Gardens as of 6:00 PM May 14, 2026. The site is now closed. Another message will be posted once a new location for use by the residents

Fire Restrictions in Place Due to Extreme Conditions

Dammeron Valley Fire & Rescue Fire Restrictions Due to current and forecasted weather conditions coupled with the extremely dry vegetation conditions encroaching into Southwest Utah and our area, fire restrictions are being implemented in Dammeron Valley’s fire protection area of operations to prevent and mitigate the risk or ignition of a wildfire. Utah House Bill 0041 Sent to Governor Cox for Signature
