Wildfire Season Is Here

Several recent brush and structure fires in western Washington County serve as a reminder that fire season is here. The National Interagency Fire Center predictive map for June 2026 illustrates the above normal risk to Utah and the western states.

Dammeron Valley residents have been doing an outstanding job of reducing fuels and are encouraged to continue to mitigate the risk to their properties (and the community). When working outside, please exercise caution using power tools or any item that could spark a fire. Offering to assist a neighbor with fuels management is a great way to encourage each other while collectively reducing risks.

DVFR and the DV-CFC are working on securing a new location for dropping off slash for chipping (more to come shortly).
