The first day utilizing the new WCWCD location for leaving tree and shrub trimmings for chipping was a success, with multiple drop-offs and good reviews regarding accessibility. The next scheduled day for drop-off of trimmings will be this coming Tuesday, August 11, from 8:00 AM to 12:00 PM.
For the safety of DVFR's chipping crew, please be sure to stack trimmings with the larger end of the branch or small trunk facing out. This allows the crew to feed the material into the chipper with minimal handling and in a manner that reduces the risk of injury. Please avoid depositing the material in a random stack, pieces facing many directions, with the larger ends pointing away from you, towards the back of the pile. Please also heed the max size limit of any limb or trunk of 6" in diameter.
Thank you, to the members of the community who are actively engaged in mitigating their property, reducing risks associated with wildfire. Collectively this work not only improves the community's chances of surviving a fire but also positively impacts the insurability of each property
